Grimm Krupa Slams House Democrats as Budget Deadline Nears
MCCLELLANDTOWN – Rep. Charity Grimm Krupa (R-Fayette) issued this statement following the dismissal of lawmakers from Harrisburg without the passing of a state budget:

“The passing of the state budget should be our No. 1 priority in the Pennsylvania House of Representatives. Yet, as the deadline approached, we heard bills called up to fund menopause education, dictate what material is used for stuffed animals and start a commission for a new state song.

“We should have been using this time to hammer out the details of how we spend our taxpayers’ hard-earned dollars. The fact that we were not goes to show the priorities of the House majority party are misguided. Lawmakers should have been held in Harrisburg until we got a deal done.”

The General Assembly is obligated to pass a balanced budget by June 30 each year.
