December 18, 2025

FAYETTE COUNTY – Rep. Charity Grimm Krupa (R-Fayette) today announced more than $533,000 in state funding has been awarded to Fayette County municipalities and organizations through the Local Share Account (LSA) and the Greenways, Trails and Recreation Program (GTRP) to support critical infrastructure improvements and expanded recreational opportunities.

The following LSA grants, funded through gaming revenues, were awarded:

Fairchance Georges Joint Municipal Sewage Authority – $50,000 for a Geographic Information System (GIS) condition assessment and asset inventory of the sanitary sewer system in Fairchance Borough. The project will replace outdated paper records with a modern digital system to improve maintenance, reduce emergency repairs, and enhance service reliability.
Fayette County Redevelopment Authority, on behalf of the Uniontown YMCA – $163,530 to construct four new multiuse recreational courts at the YMCA campus in South Union Township, including fencing, court equipment, and a shaded pavilion.
German Township Sewer Authority – $85,000 in LSA-Statewide funds to purchase specialized brush and side mowers to improve sewer right-of-way maintenance and system efficiency.
German Township Sewer Authority – $34,944 to purchase a sewer jetter with an integrated camera system to clean and inspect sewer lines as the system continues to expand within German Township.

“Investing in our infrastructure is essential to protecting public health, supporting economic growth, and ensuring our communities can plan for the future,” said Grimm Krupa. “These grants will help local authorities modernize sewer systems, improve maintenance efficiency, and expand recreational opportunities without placing additional burdens on local taxpayers.”

Grimm Krupa also announced $100,000 in GTRP funding awarded to Fayette County for the design of a new walking trail at German Masontown Park in Masontown Borough and German Township. The project will fund preliminary and final engineering design for an interloop trail that will promote outdoor recreation, encourage healthy lifestyles, and bring increased activity to local businesses in the area.

“These projects reflect the priorities I hear from constituents every day – safe infrastructure, strong local services, and accessible places for families to gather and stay active,” Grimm Krupa said. “I am proud to support funding that strengthens communities across Fayette County.”

Both the LSA and GTRP programs are administered by the Commonwealth Financing Authority to support infrastructure, recreation, and community enhancement projects throughout Pennsylvania.
