Grimm Krupa to Host Ethics Act Training for Local Officials
March 31, 2026
SMITHFIELD – Rep. Charity Grimm Krupa (R-Fayette) will host an upcoming training session designed to help local elected officials and public employees better understand their responsibilities under Pennsylvania’s Ethics Act.
The training, presented by representatives from the Pennsylvania State Ethics Commission, will take place Tuesday, April 7, from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at the Smithfield Community Center, located at 14 Water St. in Smithfield.
The session will provide an overview of the Ethics Act, including financial disclosure requirements, conflict-of-interest rules and other guidance to help officials remain compliant while serving their communities. The program is open to elected officials, public employees and municipal solicitors, and has been approved by the Pennsylvania Continuing Legal Education (CLE) Board for 1.5 hours of ethics CLE credit.
“As public servants, we are entrusted by our neighbors to represent them with integrity and transparency,” said Grimm Krupa. “Understanding the requirements of the Ethics Act is an important part of maintaining that trust. This training will give local officials and public employees an opportunity to hear directly from the State Ethics Commission, ask questions and make sure they have the tools they need to serve ethically and responsibly.”
Grimm Krupa noted that strong ethical leadership is essential to preserving public confidence in government at every level.
“Good government starts with accountability,” she said. “When those in public service understand the rules and follow them, it strengthens trust between citizens and the institutions that serve them.”
Anyone interested in attending is asked, but not required, to RSVP by Wednesday, April 1, by calling 724-438-6100 or visiting RepGrimmKrupa.com/events to reserve a spot.
