Our Mid-Atlantic Resiliency Link Town Hall was an important step in making sure our community is informed and prepared.
I want to sincerely thank the Pennsylvania Office of Consumer Advocate and Consumer Advocate Darrell Lawrence for providing an outstanding, thorough presentation on landowners’ rights and the opportunities available for public engagement in the PUC application process. Their guidance on how property owners can protect themselves and participate meaningfully was invaluable.
Thank you as well to Representative Bud Cook for co-hosting this event and standing together in support of transparency and property rights.
Most importantly, thank you to every member of the community who showed up. The turnout made it clear that our region cares deeply about protecting private property, ensuring fair process, and understanding the broader impacts of this proposed transmission project. I also want to thank the individuals who have been advocating fiercely behind the scenes to make sure the public was aware of these issues — your persistence is appreciated.
As promised, we are sharing last night’s PowerPoint presentation here so that anyone who could not attend — or anyone who would like to review the material again — can educate themselves and stay informed.
At this time, NextEra Energy has not yet filed its formal application with the Pennsylvania Public Utility Commission. However, they have indicated to the Office of Consumer Advocate that filings are forthcoming.
